Safe Streets Campaign
During the election, many residents of Alta Vista raised concerns to me about traffic and the safety of our neighbourhood streets. While long term traffic solutions are being considered, I am in the process of developing a campaign focused on developing easily implementable solutions to address the safety of local streets immediately.
Simple measures such as signage similar to a program run in British Columbia called "preventable.ca" have proven to be effective. Other measures such as speed display boards have been effective in providing an immediate response to safety concerns on the road. I would also like to know your ideas that could be part of collaborative community based campaign to provide an immediate response to traffic safety concerns in our communities.
