Snow Go and Snow Go Assist Programs
Snow Go and Snow Go Assist programs help seniors and persons with disabilities keep walkways and driveways snow-free.
The City of Ottawa in partnership with the Seniors Citizens Council and eight local community support agencies is once again providing the Snow Go programs, which assists seniors and persons with disabilities with their snow removal needs.
Snow Go Program
The Snow Go program matches seniors and persons with disabilities with contractors and/or individuals who will clear snow from their private driveways and walkways.
All workers participating in the Snow Go program are subject to a police record check conducted by Ottawa Police Services. A review of the service fee is also completed to ensure an appropriate cost range is charged to the client.
Once matched up with snow removal help, residents are responsible for paying the individual or contractor directly.
Snow Go Assist Program
Eligible low-income seniors and persons with disabilities may apply for the Snow Go Assist program and receive financial assistance to pay for a portion of their snow removal costs. Approved participants may be reimbursed up to 50 per cent of their cost of snow clearing per event, to a seasonal maximum of $250.
